About Us

Our mission is for all children to reach their full potential and develop a lifelong love of learning.

By providing a quality education that supports standards-driven instruction for all students, we aim to also foster a positive self-image and cultural awareness. Through a variety of academic programs and services we prepare students for today's technological world.

Our General Education classes involve a diagnostic-prescriptive approach to meet individual needs through the use of differentiated instruction.

Our school welcomes many students from all over the world and they begin their journey towards learning English as a New Language. Through many different strategies and interventions, our ENL students attain their goals.

We are one of 15 model Dual Language schools in New York City. Our Dual Language program expands student learning both in English and the target language, Spanish.

At PS 166 we believe that all children can learn, and it is up to us to figure out how. Our Special Education classes are filled with success and growth, using a multi-sensory approach to help students reach their full potential.

Our Gifted and Talented students learn through a compacted curriculum with a project-based approach. Using enrichment tools, these students are able to achieve success.
